Boulder Innovation Venture Released

We are pleased to announce the release of the Boulder Innovation Venture Report, an initiative launched by the Boulder Economic Council in 2017.

The Boulder Innovation Venture leveraged research data and cross-industry connections to capture metrics and stories describing local innovation that we can use to elevate Boulder’s status as a leading innovation community.

This report is the outcome of that effort. It is organized by five key sections:

  1. People
  2. Economy
  3. Research & Development
  4. Investment Capital
  5. Place

Each section presents a number of key innovation and entrepreneurship metrics. Boulder’s performance on these metrics is compared with peer innovation communities from throughout the country. Regions such as Silicon Valley, Austin, Boston, Seattle and San Francisco were selected for comparison. Click here to read the report! [Source: Boulder Chamber 06-05-2018]

Dozens lobby Boulder council on proposed ADU changes, lining up along familiar battle lines

A marathon public hearing on proposed changes to Boulder's rules governing accessory dwelling units stretched well into the night Tuesday as some five dozen residents turned out to express their opinions and frustrations with the city's attempt to relax regulations and pave the way for smaller, more affordable dwellings.

Despite the protracted process, the City Council will have to take up the issue at least once more this year. With an 11 p.m. vote, the body moved to continue its discussion on July 17. [Source: Boulder Daily Camera 06-06-2018]
